This little guy did his mom a favor by holding out just “a little while longer” so she could finish her dissertation before becoming the mommy of two. We had hoped in the extra time he would do a somersault to avoid a c-section but that wasn’t to be.
Big sister, Jubilee, exchanged gifts with her new little brother. Jonas had asked his parents (via wombmail) to give his big sister a camera so she could take pictures of him. Jubilee in return brought Jonas a combo stuffed horsey/pacifier. Jubilee’s camera was not only childproof, it was adult proof! It must have taken Darcy (dad), a Grandfather and Aunt Jessica the better half of Stephanie’s (mom) surgery to figure out how to open the little pink camera to put the batteries in. Luckily, there was some construction going on at the hospital and someone had left a very well equipped tool box in the hall for the family’s use.
Speaking of family, both sets of grandparents, aunt and uncle, and of course big sister showed up to welcome the first grandson into the family.
Jubilee inspects the new “stains” on Daddy’s shirt. I know this is something many hospitals used to do (baby’s footprints on daddy’s shirt). Unfortunately, with the new ink transfers most of the hospitals use, this is a thing of the past. I was so happy to see that there is a hospital that still does this. Such a wonderful souvenir of such a special day.
It was unfortunate that this hospital’s nursery is currently being remodeled so I didn’t get a lot of shots of the baby in the nursery. Luckily the staff was really nice and let me into the current nursery to take a few quick pictures of Jonas’ first bath. When I left he was still getting his hair done.
Congratulations Darcy, Stephanie and Jubilee on your handsome little guy!
